Pedometer# Support

Daily steps, goals, and streaks — with a celebration when you reach your target.

For help with Pedometer#, email bookrot6@gmail.com. Pedometer# is provided by Robert Hiles. These pages are hosted alongside bookrot, but Pedometer# is a separate app.

Getting started

Pedometer# requires an iPhone running iOS 18 or later. In the app's Settings, choose your daily goal and home time zone, then allow Motion & Fitness access. Carry your iPhone while walking and open the app regularly to save recent readings. Personal step tracking does not require an account.

Steps missing or slow to update?

  • Check iPhone Settings → Privacy & Security → Motion & Fitness and allow access for Pedometer.
  • Carry your iPhone while walking. The app uses the phone's motion readings; it does not import Apple Watch or Apple Health steps.
  • Return to Today after walking. iOS controls when readings become available, so the count may not update instantly.
  • Check your home time zone if steps appear under an unexpected day. Once tracking has started, that time zone stays fixed to keep your history consistent.

Goals and celebrations

Change your target under Settings → Daily goal. Reach one, two, or three times your goal for different confetti colors. Double-tap Today to replay the celebration for your current level. Haptic feedback depends on your iPhone and its settings. With Reduce Motion enabled, the app uses a still celebration banner.

Saved history and imports

Open History → Import history to recover recent phone readings or import a compatible CSV file. The import screen explains the required format. Imported records stay on your iPhone.

Your full history is stored locally. Group sharing does not back it up. Avoid deleting the app as a troubleshooting step if you want to keep your history; older readings may no longer be recoverable from iOS.

Accounts, groups, and deletion

Accounts and private groups are optional. If sign-in or group sharing fails, you can continue personal tracking without an account and email us for help. Never send your Apple password or sign-in code.

For account deletion, use Settings → Profile & account → Delete account. Export any history you want to keep before confirming. Read the deletion screen carefully: groups you own are also deleted, and local history has a separate erase option. If sign-in or deletion cannot complete, email bookrot6@gmail.com to request assistance. An error message does not mean deletion has succeeded.

To report an inappropriate group name, photo, or other concern, email us with enough detail to identify the issue. Do not include another person's private information unnecessarily.

Contact and privacy

In a support request, include your iPhone model, iOS version, Pedometer# version, what you expected, and what happened. Screenshots are optional; crop out personal information first. Please do not send full step-history exports unless needed and requested to investigate your issue.

For privacy, access, correction, or deletion requests, use bookrot6@gmail.com. See the Pedometer# Privacy Policy for details on local storage, optional cloud sharing, and your choices.
